Activity Name – Ragging Hurts-Respect Human Rights

The Anti-Ragging Awareness Program titled “Ragging Hurts – Respect Human Rights” was organised by the Anti-Ragging Committee with the primary objective of educating students about the dangers and long-term consequences of ragging, while promoting a culture of empathy, respect, and mutual understanding within the institution. The event formed part of the committee’s continuous efforts to uphold the values of human dignity and to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students. Ragging, though often misinterpreted as a form of harmless interaction or bonding among students, has been recognised as a serious violation of human rights that can lead to profound emotional, psychological, and social damage for its victims. Recognising the need to address this issue proactively, the Anti-Ragging Awareness Program was conceptualised as an engaging and educational platform through which students could better understand the seriousness of ragging and their collective responsibility in preventing it.
